Who can get the ESNcard?
You can get the ESNcard if you belong to one of the following groups:
- You are currently an exchange/international student
- You are an active member of an ESN section
(There is no age limit)
Unfortunately, you can't get the ESNcard if you don't belong to one of the two groups but you can start thinking about going on exchange!
How and where can I get the ESNcard?
Only ESN sections are allowed to sell the ESNcard. Contact the ESN section of your city or Higher Education Institution (HEI) and bring a photo of yourself for the ESNcard. You can't buy the ESNcard online.
How much does an ESNcard cost?
ESN sections are free to sell the ESNcard at the price they want, depending on the benefits they offer. Usually, ESNcards are sold for a price between 5€ and 15€.
How long is my ESNcard valid?
The ESNcard is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. If your ESNcard expires, you need to buy a new one.
I lost my ESNcard, what can I do?
Contact the ESN section that sold the ESNcard to you to get information on how you can get a new one. You might have to buy a new ESNcard.
I bought my ESNcard during my exchange, is it valid in my home country?
As long as your ESNcard hasn't expired, you can use it for all ESNcard discounts in Europe.
Can I use my ESNcard as a student card?
ESNcards are not valid student cards. These are exclusively delivered by Higher Education Institutions (HEI).

What benefits and discounts can I get with my ESNcard?
You can check all benefits and discounts on esncard.org. The ESN sections usually offer their events at a reduced price if you have the ESNcard.
Can my family and friends enjoy the benefits and discounts of my ESNcard?
Unfortunately not. Only ESNcard owners can benefit from the ESNcard advantages, unless otherwise stated by the partner.
